Lyra is another of Georgie’s beautiful babies born at Big Ears following Lyra’s rescue.

Cecily (RIP)

Cecily is an ex “barn laid” hen, which in my opinion and experience, is only marginally better than the cage hens. Cecily lived in a shed which was filthy and dirty with particles so thick in the air you would cough just being there. She lived with at least 100 other birds in the one area where they roosted and ate. At the age of 18 months Cecily was considered a ‘spent’ hen and was set aside to be killed along with the rest of the barn hens she shared with. Luckily for Cecily and 40 or so others, she now calls Big Ears her home.

Sponsorship of $35.00 a year for Cecily will go towards her health treatments for worms and mites to keep her healthy.

Bronte RIP

Clover RIP

Clover is a very friendly goat that now calls Big Ears her forever home, together with her sister Dandelion.

Clover can be sponsored for $100.00 for 12 months and will go towards her health checks, toe trimmings, drenching and other health treatments.

Princess Pixie (RIP)

This little sweetie is Princess Pixie and she is another of the 8 we rescued. Her previous owner told us that Princess Pixie is 3 years of age and has already had 5 litters of at least 12 babies each. Most of the babies died, found frozen to death or in the mud. Princes Pixie is a lovely girl who is arrived underweight. She required antibiotic and anti inflammatory treatment for urinary scald, vitamin shots for malnutrition, treatment for mites and calici vaccination. She has also been spayed since she arrived at Big Ears.
