Dewy RIP

Dewy is one of the 300 rabbits that came to Big Ears in 2012 when we bought out a meat rabbit farm. She now lives with two friends in an outside enclosure.

She earned her name because of the extremely large dew laps that she has under her chin. Even though she is de-sexed the dew laps have never gone away. They make a great cushion for her when she is resting her head.

Ryanette (RIP)

Ryanette is a little bush bunny that was rescued by a young man called Ryan. Ryanette was originally called Ryan but at de-sexing time we realised that Ryan was actually Ryanette.

Ryanette was hand reared and she now lives with her friend Tyrion.

Sponsorship of Ryanette is $50.00 per annum which goes towards her vet checks, vaccinations and parasite control.

Aussie Sapphire aka Saffy (RIP)

Vytas (RIP)

Vytas came to the sanctuary in 2015. He came with a number of rabbits that were surrendered as the owners were moving and getting a little overwhelmed.

Vytas lives in foster care with his girl bun Mrs Higgins. He still needs sponsorship because he has arthritis and needs daily medication.

Bishop (RIP)

Bishop was one of five rabbits born at Big Ears in Febraury 2017. His mother, Oreo, had been surrendered to Big Ears as she was no longer wanted. It was not told to us that his mother was pregnant.

Bishop lives with his brother Barney outside.

Licorice (RIP)

Licorice came to Big Ears in 2015 after being rescued from the Hobart RSPCA. It had been determined that she wouldn’t find a home as she was very timid and elusive. She now lives with her big white partner rabbit Terry.
