Reno (RIP)

Reno is a 7 year old German Shepherd from German Shepherd Rescue NSW. He was seized from a puppy farm where he had lived his seven years in a concrete enclosure, only let out to mate with other dogs. Such was his neglect that his ears became infected and the tops of them were then eaten away by maggots when they were fly blown.

Reno is a special needs dog with attachment issues and major anxiety. He is medicated daily for this.

Panda our loyal pet who was with us for 14 years, passing away on the 09/06/13.

Connor (RIP)

Connor has had a terrible past that involved mistreatment, violence against him as well as neglect, including starvation. Connor’s full story can be read here https://www.bigearsanimalsanctuary.com/animals/dogs/

Connor is now a wonderful, confident dog, wanting to please his people. He still has some health issues after the years of mistreatment, in particular his ears need constant treatment to help with dryness and soreness. He also has few teeth due to years of chewing on rocks as a source of food. He was 11 kilograms when he was seized by the authorities. He is now over 30 kilograms.

Sponsorship of Connor will go towards his health checks, annual vaccinations and his medication for his ears. There may even be some left for his favourite treats. Sponsorship is $150.00 for 12 months.

Ellie (RIP)

Ellie is a 7 month old border collie and German shepherd cross. Ellie’s previous family could no longer keep her due to financial hardships and took her to the vet to be put to sleep. The vet asked the family to consider them finding her a home and contacted Big Ears. Although we do not take in dogs, on this occasion we decided to give Ellie a home.
