April 2014

Keep an eye out for the story on Melissa Clark who is doing the Ironman for Big Ears. Her story will be in the Tasmanian Examiner either 25th April or 26th April 2014. Not long to go now for Melissa so please jump on her website and support her. there are great prizes to be one.

We have taken in a cocky that cannot fly that we found on our farm. We also have taken in 6 ducklings and 1 rabbit named Kate and a disabled goose named Goosy Lucy.

We have rehomed 3 cats/kittens.

In the hospital we have 2 budgies that have a respiratory illness. I also found a baby turkey chick that has been left in the paddock by her mum and had sustained an injury to her wing. I have her inside keeping her warm and hoping she will make it through the shock.

Thankyou to everyone who supported the raffle organised by Zahira Tasmania. Over $1500 was raised and some people won some awesome prizes.

Thankyou to Kath and Claire for organising and holding the Evandale Market stall. we raised over $600.

As a result Brett has built a new aviary which now has Cocky and Raffy (the new bird) living in it. They love their new big space.

We have had a number of visitors through especially the Launceston College Animal Studies class and the Polytechnic Animal Studies class that we will also be hosting 2 student placements for.
