A number of people ask why the address for the Sanctuary isn't on the website.  The reason is that this is Brett and Jacqui's family home, they live here, as do the animals, and they therefore ask that people respect their need for privacy.

November 2012

Due to ongoing health issues for President and Co-founder Jacqui Steele, Big Ears will not be having any visitors for the forseeable future. We will do our best to accommodate visit requests for sponsors of Big Ears animals.

 

May 2012 update - Jacqui is starting further cancer treatments.  Due to this and the colder weather Big Ears is not receiving any visitors until October 2012 (unless otherwise arranged).

 

SEPTEMBER 2011 UPDATE

As you maybe aware from our "news" section, our co-founder Jacqui has been diagnosed with cancer.  She is very sick and undergoing treatment so we may not be as quick as we would like to be to reply to you so please bear with us.  Also during this time we are unable to have visitors.  Hopefully in the future we can again have visitors by appointment.  Once again thankyou for your support during this difficult time.

Please remember that we are not a petting zoo, this is a Sanctuary where many mistreated, neglected and unwanted animals come to live out their lives.  It is their home and we must respect that at all times.  Some animals do enjoy interacting with people and will do so, and we leave it up to them to make that decision.

We do not charge for people to visit the Sanctuary but we do ask that you make a donation of whatever you are able to afford.  All donations go directly to caring for and feeding the animals.  A receipt can be provided for tax purposes for any donation over $2.00.
